The Rock will present US$50,000 ‘BMF’ title belt to Nate Diaz or Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244

  • UFC president Dana White says ‘The Rock gets what The Rock wants’
  • White also confirms staggering production cost for the special gimmick championship belt

Fight fans have finally got the answers to two of the most burning questions in MMA: how much will the “BMF” belt cost to make, and will The Rock get to present it to the winner?

Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal are fighting to be crowned the “baddest [expletive] in the game in their Madison Square Garden main event at UFC 244 on November 2.

Such an honour deserves its own title belt, according to UFC president White, who has been busy getting one made with the company’s design team.

“That’s a good question,” White said when asked by TMZ Sports how much the gimmick will set him back. “I think it’s gonna be like, I think the belt’s like 50 grand [US$50,000].”

As for WWE legend and Hollywood icon Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, his involvement in all this came about after he declared on Twitter he would do all he could to make it to New York for the fight.

Masvidal then told the Fast & Furious star he wanted him to put the belt around his waist, and The Rock agreed – it was just up to White to sign off on it.

‘BMF’ belt makes Nate Diaz vs Jorge Masvidal fight seem like WWE, says Miesha Tate

“He’s gonna. He’s taking my job,” said White, who normally presents champions with their belts in the octagon.

“Listen, if The Rock wants to do it, The Rock gets what The Rock wants. Done.”
