Tall order: It will be difficult to match my feat of 10 gold medals in Hong Kong, says Katinka Hosszu
Hungary's 'Iron Lady' says it will be difficult to match her 10 golds won last year in city as she competes in the World Cup leg at Victoria Park
Last year she won 10 gold medals, but world record holder Katinka Hosszu expects a tougher challenge as she attempts to match her feat in the World Cup Hong Kong leg, which splashes into action at Victoria Park tonight.
Nicknamed the "Iron Lady", the Hungarian dominated the pool at her last visit in 2014 - a short-course event - but she will have her work cut out as she faces stiffer opposition in the long course event.
Arriving for the third leg of the Fina series a month after capturing two gold medals and a world record at the recent World Championships in Kazan, Hosszu remains one of the star attractions for the two-day event.
But she faces a top-class field this time, with London Olympic gold medallists Cameron van der Burgh of South Africa, Missy Franklin of the United States and Australia's Cate Campbell in the mix. Cate and her younger sister Bronte, who is also in Hong Kong, also won gold medals in Kazan.
Hosszu says she will take part in up to 15 events over the two days, but knows it will be hard to match her 10 golds of last year.
"I won 10 gold last year, but this year is a bit longer," said Hosszu, who entered seven events in Kazan and won gold medals in the 200 metre individual medley with a world record and the 400 metre individual medley.
"I do like this pool very much and was surprised how fast I swam last year because it was in the beginning of the season.
"Of course, I am hoping for a similar result because I am going to be racing a lot of events. It will be a big challenge, but I feel very excited in Hong Kong again."
