Michelin-starred experience for foodie guests on ‘most luxurious ship ever’
A cruise ship being billed as the most luxurious ever will offer excursions that include meals at some of the world’s most famous eateries.
Luxury line Regent Seven Seas on Wednesday announced that its soon-to-debut Seven Seas Explorer will offer an exclusive series of culinary tours that include visits to world-renowned Michelin-starred restaurants, iconic markets and palatial vineyard estate homes.
Dubbed Gourmet Explorer Tours, the one-of-a-kind outings also will include hands-on instruction from award-winning chefs.
Each of the tours will be accompanied by a chef instructor from Explorer’s Culinary Arts Kitchen as well as a local guide who is a specialist in the tour area’s agriculture, wine and cuisine. Often the local guide will be a chef, too.
Regent revealed plans for 22 of the tours for Explorer’s inaugural season in the Mediterranean. They include an outing in Monte Carlo that starts with a wine tasting in Nice followed by dinner at the famed La Chèvre d’Or restaurant. Another tour, in Saint Tropez, France, will combine a tasting of three Provence varietals at the famed La Croix winery with a gourmet dining experience at the renowned La Vague d’Or, a Michelin three-star restaurant.
Scheduled to debut in July, Explorer will have one of the highest ratios of space to passengers in the history of cruising, and Regent is promising to set a new benchmark in luxury cruising with the ship.
