The company revealed its plan on Friday as Hong Kong’s transport chief stressed the need for a resilient logistics ecosystem with geopolitical tensions rising.
Kenny Lau, chief technology officer at SF Express Hong Kong, said that the second stage of the company’s plan would be to expand the service to cover all cities in the Greater Bay Area.
Lau unveiled the plan at a logistics summit where industry players gathered to exchange ideas and views.
He said the firm had already explored the possibility of providing cross-border drone deliveries with the governments of four cities in Guangdong province.
“In the first stage, it will be 4+1, where we will use Hong Kong as our core base and we will connect with four major cities – Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangzhou and Zhuhai – to carry out low-altitude logistics,” Lau said at the LSCM Logistics Summit at the Hong Kong Science Park.
