Hong Kong police arrested a minibus driver in Yuen Long on Sunday over a series of hit and runs after his vehicle struck another public van, a franchised bus and a private car within 10 minutes, leaving four people injured.

The minibus, with only the 64-year-old driver on board, was travelling near a roundabout not far from Castle Peak Road Tai Mei when it collided with another green-top minibus at 12.27pm, injuring a man and two women passengers on the second vehicle.

The three passengers, aged 39 to 81, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Pok Oi Hospital.

The driver of the first vehicle left the scene and hit a KMB double-decker bus at Castle Peak Road Yuen Long eight minutes later.

He failed to stop and a minute later at 12.36pm, he collided with a seven-seater car at On Ning Road. The car driver complained of neck pain but did not require hospital treatment.

The minibus driver was later arrested at a car repair shop in Tai Tong on suspicion of dangerous driving and failure to stop after an accident and make a report to police.

A source familiar with the case said the minibus driver took the vehicle to the repair shop to have it fixed, but an employee was suspicious and refused.

The insider added the repairman contacted staff at the minibus terminus, who reported the incident to police.
