The price of a standard adult round-trip ticket will jump by 12 per cent to HK$185, while the same ticket for a child will rise by 11 per cent to HK$95.

It comes after another tourist attraction, Hong Kong Disneyland, raised the price of its one-day ticket for a person aged 12 to 64 by 8 per cent to HK$539 last month.

A Ngong Ping 360 spokeswoman said the company made the fare adjustment because of “noticeable increases in maintenance costs, expenditure on spare parts and staff remuneration and benefits in the past years”.

She added the company’s decision was made amid a “challenging situation in local tourism industry and fierce competition from overseas countries”.

On a happier note for visitors, ticket prices for the premium “Crystal Cabin” cable car with a transparent glass bottom will remain the same.
