My dad is ‘the most competent man I’ve ever met’, says CY Leung’s daughter
Leung Chai-yan has in the past caused a stir with comments posted about her father on social media
After a year of causing him public-relations headaches, the eldest daughter of Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying has taken a more conciliatory tack, praising him as a caring father and the most competent man she has ever met.
Leung Chai-yan, who has caused a stir when posting comments about her father on social media over the past year, said she “certainly has no hard feelings” about anything she posted online.
Last year, the younger Leung caused concern after posting photos of cuts to her wrist. She also elicited a firestorm online after saying that the stabbing of a local editor was not an attack on press freedom and, in another case, bragging that she "used taxpayers' money" to fund her shopping sprees.
Less than a week after the chief executive announced his third policy address, Chai-yan revealed more about her feelings towards her father in an interview published in Chinese language magazine .
Chai-yan, a 23-year-old law student at the London School of Economics, claims to have had two romantic relationships. But in her eyes, her father embodies a set of qualities unseen in any other man she has met.
“I have never met any other man in my life that is as competent, as hard working and self-disciplined as my father,” she said.
