A jogger in northeastern China bled to death after crashing through a glass door at a shopping centre, police said.

The Public Security Bureau of Dandong, Liaoning, said on Thursday that surveillance cameras showed the man running into the door by accident and smashing the glass.

Police officers and paramedics were sent to help as the man lay in the street, the bureau’s Sina Weibo account said. The jogger was taken to hospital, where doctors found glass had severed a carotid artery in his neck, causing haemorrhagic shock.

He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the hospital, police said.
