Chinese air stewardess suspended for eating leftover meal actually filmed video herself, says airline
A flight attendant who was suspended after footage emerged showing her eating a leftover passenger meal had made the video intentionally, the airline said in a statement on Friday, December 8.
According to Urumqi Air, the attendant filmed herself eating the leftovers and then posted the video on social media.
Friday’s statement comes a day after the airline’s first response on to the video, which said the attendant had been suspended.
The new information has led some internet users who had previously defended the stewardess to criticise her, while applauding the airline for dealing with the issue appropriately.
The video of the woman tucking into the meal was posted online several days ago.
The footage shows about 15 boxes of airline meals stacked up, with the flight attendant eating one of them.
