Firefighters were called to a massage parlour in eastern China on the weekend after an 11-year-old boy got his head stuck in the hole of a massage bed, according to a local newspaper.

The boy went with a parent to the parlour on Sunday afternoon in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, and put his head in the hole while his parent was having a massage on another bed, the Metropolis Express reported.

Police were called after the boy was unable to get his head out of the hole.

The boy was finally freed after fire men arrived and held the boy upside-down while one pushed his head up from the hole.

The boy was scared but unhurt by the ordeal.

In November, firefighters in Jiangsu province had to dismantle a similar bed after an eight-year-old boy got his head stuck in the hole while the visiting a massage shop with his mother.

In 2013, a young girl also in Hangzhou got her head stuck in the hole of a massage bed and was freed after firefighters cut out the padding surrounding the hole.
