The crew managed to rescue the woman, but the plane had to land in Alaska so she could get medical treatment, said the report.

The woman was described as middle-aged and Asian looking with a seat in economy. She was seen walking into the toilet after a conversation with an African American man sitting next to her, according to the Weibo account of a fellow passenger sitting near the couple.

Passengers were later transferred to San Francisco and are being scheduled to arrive in Beijing on Thursday evening, said the report.

It’s not clear if the passenger will face any legal consequences.
