Noted for his performance in Brokeback Mountain (2005), which earned him a BAFTA for best supporting role and an Oscar nomination, the 37-year-old Hollywood actor is set to appear in a film advertisement which will appear online and in cinemas this spring, according to New York magazine WWD. 

With a functional and elegant design, the Santos de Cartier watch was first developed in 1904. 

The latest interpretation of the square-face timepiece, which features an interchangeable leather strap and bracelet, was unveiled in Geneva in January. 

“Integrity, dedication and boundless curiosity: Jake Gyllenhaal embodies the Santos de Cartier man,” Cartier said in a statement. “A man who commits utterly and does nothing by halves. A man who defines fearless as honest and true to himself.” 

It continued, “Jake Gyllenhaal reveals a new side to his talent with every film, performing a wide variety of roles. Cartier was drawn to his invincible style and fearless spirit.” 

The Santos de Cartier watch in stainless steel and calfskin leather straps is priced at HK$54,000, while the timepiece in 18ct yellow gold and stainless steel costs HK$81,500.
