Laurinda Ho is many things – casino heiress, style icon and daughter of late billionaire tycoon Stanley Ho, to name a few – but just like the rest of us, she looks forward to every holiday season here in Hong Kong. Each Christmas, gorgeous trees and festive decorations pop up across the city – and Wan Chai’s hip and vibrant Starstreet Precinct is no exception.

Ahead of all the hustle and bustle this year, we caught up with Ho at the launch of Pacific Place and Starstreet Precinct’s holiday celebrations, “A Fairytale Christmas”, to learn more about what the socialite’s been up to these days – as well as what she’s looking forward to in 2024 and beyond.

For me, Christmas is a very happy season! We get to receive gifts and I love the homey vibe I get from all the decorations. I love Christmas trees and Santa Claus in particular.

When I’m in Hong Kong for the holiday season, I usually have dinner with family in a place that’s surrounded with decorations. This year, I know that Pacific Place has a Santa Claus meet-and-greet, so I’ll probably bring them here to make some memories.

For the new year, I haven’t planned anything yet – but I hope I get to travel around more and explore new places because we weren’t able to during the pandemic.

5. Her favourite holiday gifts to give or receive

Personally, I like handmade gifts, so I will bake a cake or cook up a Christmas feast at home. I prefer hand-making the gifts myself rather than buying them.
