There’s something for everyone from among these latest luxury offerings.

Relaxing staycation

For anyone wanting to treat their mother to something special on Mother’s Day, the options are limited this year. A spot of pampering at a glamorous overseas destination spa is going to be a tough one to pull off – but fortunately, a staycation package at one of Hong Kong’s top hotels and spas offers a pretty good alternative.

The Landmark Mandarin Oriental’s Oasis Indulgence for Mom, which is available until the end of May, features a 24-hour stay at the five-star hotel, in addition to spa and F&B credits. Other benefits include a room upgrade, a one-way limousine transfer, champagne, breakfast for two adults and one child, a 25 per cent discount at the hotel’s restaurants and bars, including two-Michelin star Amber, and an Aromatherapy Associates wellness kit. For those who book suites, they will have access to the Landmark Bespoke Salon. Show your love to Mum with the well-earned relaxation.

Brightening vision

La Prairie, the Swiss luxury skincare that focuses on illuminating science, has launched the new White Caviar Eye Extraordinaire.

The eye cream is designed to reduce dark circles around the eyes. It is enriched with the molecule Lumidose, which boosts the reflective properties of the skin and inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin production.

The eye cream also features Golden Caviar Extract for increasing the production of collagen. Apart from La Prairie’s luxurious packaging, there is the bonus of a ceramic pearl roller tool for soothing and de-puffing the eye area.

Blossoming creations

Now, more than ever, people are turning to soothing nature themes to de-stress. Flowers and plants have been a source of inspiration for French jeweller Van Cleef & Arpels since 1906. The brand recently added eight new creations to the Frivole collection, including a bracelet and two secret watches.

The bracelet is made of seven flowers of different sizes that combine to magnify the beauty of heart-shaped petals, which are centred on one or a cluster of three diamonds.

And for the first time, the iconic Frivole flowers are seen in hidden timepieces. A pivoting, three-dimensional bouquet composition of gold petals hides the diamond-paved watch dial.

A more sparkling transformable secret watch is crafted with fully diamond-set flowers. The precious bouquet becomes a pendant, or can be worn as a clip.

The brand also used rose gold and pink sapphires in some of the new Frivole creations, including a pair of earrings and a pendant.

Signature style

If you like versatile accessories with flair, here is a collection you might want to check out. Kris Van Assche, the creative director of Berluti, has brought his characteristic urban and minimalist flair to the house with a new canvas print.

The Signature pattern is inspired by the house’s archival designs. It features the brand’s iconic Scritto motif and the brand’s new logo – inspired by the shoe tree of the first pair of shoes made by Alessandro Berluti.

Unveiled at the Berluti winter 2020 show in Paris, the Signature collection comprises a variety of bags, including ones that can be worn across the body, clutches and a sailor bag, as well as small accessories, belts and shoes. The items come in cool shades of slate and lead grey on black.

Van Assche says his vision was to “create a bridge between the past and the present”, and that he had always wanted to add a pattern onto Berluti’s hand-patinated Venezia leather.

Lucky number 8

Here is a destination that would be ideal for a break after the global pandemic is over, or if you want to buy a home abroad. Malaysian developer KSK Land is set to open its mixed-used project, 8 Conlay, in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The development brings together famous designers Steve Leung, Kelly Hoppen and YOO.

Scheduled to open at the end of 2020, 8 Conlay will feature three towers, stretching up to 68 storeys, comprising residences, a five-star hotel and lifestyle retail. Two of the towers will be YOO8 – the world’s tallest, twisted twin residential towers. Luxury hotel brand Kempinski partnered with YOO for the serviced residences, of which Hong Kong architect Leung designed Tower A’s 564 homes.

Drawing upon the elements of Chinese wuxing philosophy, Leung’s interiors combine tranquil azure hues and marbled surfaces for watery reflection with warm, soothing woods. British designer Hoppen lends her signature neutral tones and materials, warm lighting and organic textures for an urban spring vibe to Tower B’s 498 units.
