Spider-Man: Far From Home beats box-office expectations – but which of Marvel’s films is least liked?
Superhero film Spider-Man: Far From Home has exceeded American box-office projections with domestic takings of US$185 million over the six-day holiday week, and has already made US$580 million worldwide.
The sequel to 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, which again stars English actor Tom Holland in the title role, has received an A grade from CinemaScore, the market research company that has surveyed audiences during a film’s opening night for 40 years.

It is further proof that audiences love the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). But there are some MCU offerings that viewers have enjoyed more than others among the 23 films released so far.
Three of them have received A+ grades from CinemaScore – this year’s Avengers: Endgame, last year’s Black Panther and 2012’s The Avengers.

This is a rare instance where both critics and audiences agree.
Avengers: Endgame and Black Panther are the two best-reviewed MCU films on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes: the former has a 97 per cent Rotten Tomatoes critic score and the latter has a 94 per cent rating. The Avengers is not far behind with 92 per cent.

But there is one MCU film that audiences did not love like the others: 2011’s Thor. But even that still has a B+ CinemaScore.
Thor is not the worst-reviewed MCU film among critics (that “honour” is shared by the sequel, Thor: The Dark World, and The Incredible Hulk), but it is towards the bottom of the list with a 77 per cent Rotten Tomatoes critic score.
