Balenciaga Diamant collection: a shimmering debut in Los Angeles

Balenciaga’s autumn 2024 show – which took place in a leafy Los Angeles residential neighbourhood and was attended by the likes of Nicole Kidman and Kim Kardashian – saw the label debut its first high jewellery collection, named Diamant.

The brand’s creative director Demna teamed up with jeweller-to-the-stars Jacob & Co. for a series of diamond-encrusted chains, rings and necklaces. Rapper Cardi B, who closed the show in a fluffy blue coat, sported two signature pieces: a Cuban link chain with the BB logo and a two-finger ring with the brand’s name in cursive script.

Louis Vuitton x Frank Gehry: a Twist on tradition

Louis Vuitton’s Twisted Box Trunk, designed by Frank Gehry, pays homage to the brand’s heritage with its skewed and asymmetrical forms

Architecture buffs are in for a treat with this sculptural creation from leather-goods house Louis Vuitton. Designed by Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry, the Twisted Box Trunk is a nod to the skewed and asymmetrical forms of Gehry’s striking buildings, as well as to the brand’s heritage as a trunkmaker.

A long-time collaborator with the house, Gehry has left his unmistakable mark on many other LV creations, ranging from perfume bottles and window displays, all the way up to the Fondation Louis Vuitton art and cultural centre in Paris.

The sharp jackets and tailored trousers of New York-based designer Peter Do’s spring/summer 2024 collection, which debuted in Paris in September, were accessorised with silver jewellery created in collaboration with Swedish label All Blues. Do and All Blues founder Jacob Skragge met in 2017 and established a shared vision centred on ideas such as “reduction, modularity and wearability”, now at the core of their latest 11-piece range.

Raxxy: bold outerwear with a Chinese twist

Raxxy designs offer a bold fusion of Chinese design elements

Based in both Shanghai and Milan, and established by creative director William Shen and model Fang Jiaping in 2020, outerwear specialist Raxxy caught our attention when it first debuted. So, rejoice, local readers – the brand is now available at Joyce in Hong Kong. Look out for attention-grabbing down jackets that incorporate Chinese design elements such as bamboo weaving and come in fun colour-blocked patterns.
