Meghan McCain is no stranger to controversy.
In fact, hardly a day goes by without the American TV personality making the headlines for a comment she’s made or an article she’s written.
Most recently it’s been related to news that a musical is about to debut in New York called The Ghost of John McCain about her late father’s ghost being trapped inside Donald Trump’s brain.
“My family has not authorised it nor was aware of it,” she told The Messenger. “I am not going to see it. I am grossed out by the entire concept,” she also told the New York Post.

She was a co-host on ABC’s The View, an American talk show with an all-female panel that first aired in 1997. Per Variety, McCain was one of the only co-hosts to quit the show without being fired when she left in 2021. An 2019 SNL sketch dubbed her the “Princess of Arizona” and she later said she was aware of the “spoiled, entitled queen of nepotism persona” people had created for her.
But McCain has stirred the most controversy for what she’s said about her former co-hosts on The View.

What did Meghan McCain say about The View?
McCain spilled the beans about her time working on the show after her departure.
“When I left The View – and I quit, it was very dramatic – it was like a bomb going off, when I was going into the studio to announce that I was leaving,” she explained in an episode of her Meghan McCain Has Entered the Chat podcast.
“I just felt like I could not be the kind of mother, wife and commentator I wanted to be in that kind of a chaotic environment,” she added.
She later accused The View of “slandering” her name after co-host Ana Navarro made an on-air dig at her that McCain said insulted her reputation as a political commentator, per Entertainment Weekly.
