While it’s true that the British royals have access to the best wellness in the world – clean and green Balmoral air, calculated diets courtesy of top-notch palace chefs, and trainers and health consultants at their beck and call, it doesn’t hurt to get a little help from years-old beauty products and services that have stood the test of time.

Read on to discover five beauty secrets that have got the seal of approval from our favourite members of the royal family …

1. Bee venom facials

The royals are said to favour the stingy treatment from English beautician Deborah Mitchell. She is said to use only fresh venom, per Vogue Australia, which can mimic the effects of a bee sting, resulting in increased collagen production, better blood circulation and boosted anti-ageing properties for the skin.

Mitchell told British media that she does “all the royals” and this includes Kate Middleton, as well as Camilla and Charles, and A-list celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Gwyneth Paltrow and Victoria Beckham.

2. LED light therapy

According to Hello! magazine, Meghan Markle’s secret to her glowing complexion is said to be all thanks to LED light therapy, a beauty treatment lauded for its benefits on the skin and overall wellness. Per Marie Claire UK, the process combines different types of LED light that targets blemishes and skin irritation, visible signs of ageing and inflammation. It functions like a facial: it’s non-invasive, and rejuvenates and heals the skin. Each session lasts for only about 20 minutes – perfect for busy royals and celebs, too.

Other than Markle, stars such as Carey Mulligan, Kourtney Kardashian and, again, Victoria Beckham have also seen the light in LED light therapy, as per numerous reports.

Princess Grace Kelly herself was reportedly an avid follower of the brand and its innovative suncare products. To this day, Lancaster remains proudly known for its sun cream preferred by royals, including Middleton, stated the same source.

Its website notes being first granted the royal warrant in 1909, on behalf of King George V. They then held “the royal warrant as pharmacists to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth” for over 60 years, from 1958 to 2022.

According to pharmacy news website C+D, John Bell & Croyden has produced the anointing oil used in the coronation of King George V and Queen Elizabeth. It’s reportedly an oil that contains a mix of orange, roses, cinnamon, musk and ambergris.
