BTS’ hottest looks of 2019 – from Dior and Louis Vuitton wardrobes to mimicking The Beatles, a year in fashion for the kings of K-pop
Every time K-pop phenomenon BTS perform on stage, millions of fans around the globe tune in. The band’s comeback in April was far from the only highly-anticipated event of 2019. BTS has become so in-demand in South Korea and abroad that almost every week of the past month, you’ll see them performing at concerts, awards shows, talk shows and music shows. The unprecedented fame of this septet is far from dying any time soon.
BTS’ captivating music, choreography, star appeal and stage presence aren’t the only things to watch for, though. Every time the band takes the public eye, they make sure to do so in style. The stars’ ever-growing fandom, called Army, rave about their consistently striking appearance – and what they wear has a lot to do with that. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook simply dazzle with the way they dress up, individually and collectively. They don’t stick to a specific formula or trend. They express their personal style while making sure they match the mood of each song. They definitely light up any stage they perform on.

Sweet or sleek for Boy With Luv
For its comeback after the successful “Love Yourself” tour, BTS introduced the world to this year's biggest pop bop: Boy With Luv. The music video was all about baby pink and other pastel hues. So, for the M Countdown Comeback Special Stage, the boys charmed in candyfloss-coloured suits.
The group switched it up when they appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. In dashing black suits they paid homage to The Beatles' US debut on the same show and performed Boy With Luv in a 60s style.
Then, in their Saturday Night Live (SNL) performance, the BTS boys donned outfits that were equal parts sweet and sleek: Prada floral shirts paired with black suits.

Will BTS ever perform in China?
Meanwhile, Dior proudly designed one of BTS’ costumes for the “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” tour. Fashion fans and Armys alike eagerly looked forward to the utilitarian looks that were custom-made by designer Kim Jones.
The sketches were already incredible, but the actual stage wear was even more attractive. The glass-skinned flower boys looked edgy and stunning, sporting harnesses, cargo pants and bomber jackets by the French label.
The fairy princes of The Truth Untold
Performed by BTS' vocal line, emotional song The Truth Untold is arguably the most romantic part of the “Love Yourself” concerts. The atmosphere turns from energetic to intimate as the members start singing. Clad in lace and ruffles, Jin, Jimin, V and Jungkook enthral their spectators.
All cosy for Anpanman
Anpanman was one of the most fun BTS hits last year, and fans got to see the group enjoy performing it onstage during the “Speak Yourself” tour this year. For the song, the members wore baggy shirts and comfy pants that showcased their laid-back street style. No better outfits for the boys who cheerfully played around on their bouncy inflatable slide, right?

Silk and shimmer for Pied Piper
This combination of textures blends well with the boys' sweet falsetto and the tantalising melody of this “Love Yourself: Her” album track. Among the bunch, “Mr Worldwide Handsome”, Jin, definitely stood out by matching his outfit and accenting his neck with a sparkly choker.
Boy in Luv revival
At the recent Melon Music Awards 2019, BTS donned matching grey suits as they performed five-year-old hit Boy in Luv. The members’ coordinated outfits were like a grown-up take on their high school uniforms and sneakers in the music video for Skool Luv Affair.
Divine like Dionysus
Like Boy with Luv, Dionysus is another track from the group's latest album “Map of the Soul: Persona”. BTS performed it in all their glory for various shows – the first one being the M Countdown comeback special. They sure looked like modern Greek deities in their all-white ensembles.
