It's still 2012, but organisers of art festival Le French May are furiously promoting the programme for 2013.

French Consul General Arnaud Barthèlemy and chairman of Le French May's board Andrew Yuen Wai-man hosted a black-tie gala dinner on Monday at The Repulse Bay hotel to announce the programme to 160 guests.

The Verandah restaurant was chosen for the event because it was built in the 1920s, echoing the theme of the next French May. A short video preview of the exhibitions, film screenings and performing arts shows was shown to guests.

Soprano Joyce Wong and mezzo-soprano Carol Lin Ho-yan performed excerpts from the Offenbach opera The Tales of Hoffmann, which will be one of the highlights of the festival, in partnership with Opera Hong Kong.

Guests savoured drops from Jean-Claude Boisset's winery and a six-course dinner created for the occasion by chef Franck Studeny. Sommelier Gregory Patriat introduced the wines.
